Summary:
Compiles data and prepares claims for electronic filing and invoicing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of ambulance billing claims.
Review daily data entry to ensure completeness and accuracy of billing information.
Complete call information into billing program, assign reason for transport code, add charges and set claims to file ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal guidelines.
Ensure all required documentation is on hand to file a claim.
Maintain knowledge of relevant laws regarding billing.
Investigate/gather information on accounts using a wide variety of resources within the scope of local, state and federal laws.
Determine order of primary, secondary, and/or other responsible parties for ambulance fee charges and bill appropriately.
Participate in Quality Improvement activities including audits, peer review and data collection activities.
Maintain confidentially of information as assigned.
Maintain positive working relationship with internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma One year medical billing experience preferred Knowledge of submission of insurance claims to Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance carriers.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
